Pawsitivity – Animal Welfare Initiative

1.Protect & Safety Initiative

In India, thousands of stray dogs are injured or killed every year due to speeding vehicles and increasing traffic on roads and highways. Poor visibility during nighttime, lack of animal safety measures, and absence of dedicated crossings make stray animals highly vulnerable to road accidents.

To address this issue, Kith and Kin Foundation, under its *Pawsitivity* campaign, has initiated a highway animal safety drive focused on protecting stray dogs through reflective radium collar belts. These collars glow and reflect vehicle headlights at night, helping drivers identify animals from a distance and significantly reducing the chances of accidents.

Under this initiative, we have successfully provided radium safety collars to more than 2,145+ stray dogs across the Thane Majiwada to Padgha Nashik Highway stretch. Our next mission is to extend this protection drive from Majiwada to Fountain Hotel, Thane, ensuring the safety and visibility of even more stray animals living near busy roads and highways.

Through this campaign, we aim to create safer roads for both animals and commuters while encouraging compassionate community participation toward animal welfare and protection.



2. Vaccination & Preventive Healthcare

At Kith and Kin Foundation, we strongly believe that every animal deserves access to basic healthcare and protection from preventable diseases. Along with safety initiatives, we actively conduct vaccination drives for stray dogs to protect them from life-threatening diseases such as rabies and other viral infections.

Our vaccination programs contribute not only to the wellbeing of stray animals but also to safer and healthier communities. Through awareness drives, medical support, and collaboration with veterinarians and animal caregivers, we continue working toward responsible and sustainable animal healthcare solutions.



3. Animal Rights & Anti-Cruelty Awareness

Animal cruelty remains a serious concern, with many stray animals facing abuse, neglect, starvation, and violence every day. Kith and Kin Foundation is committed to protecting animal rights by promoting compassion, responsible community behavior, and awareness about humane treatment toward animals.

Through awareness campaigns, rescue support, and advocacy initiatives, we actively work to reduce animal cruelty and encourage a culture of kindness, empathy, and coexistence with all living beings.


4. Rescue & Shelter Support

Under the *Pawsitivity* campaign, our rescue team works tirelessly to help injured, abandoned, and vulnerable animals in need of immediate care and protection. Whenever we receive information about injured animals, we conduct rescue operations and coordinate with nearby veterinary clinics, animal rescuers, and shelter homes to ensure timely medical treatment and rehabilitation.

Kith and Kin Foundation also collaborates with local shelter homes to provide temporary shelter, food, care, and recovery support for rescued animals, helping them live safer, healthier, and more dignified lives.
